Welcome Class!

This is our class blog for this semester. You will each post 10 sentences every day, 50 sentences each week. These sentences are sentences that you find somewhere on the internet. They may not be sentences someone else has already posted to this blog. The sentences should not be a definition, but they should be informative about what the word means and how the word is used. For example, consider the sentence "I am a firefighter." This sentence doesn't tell us anything about what the word means. Now look at the sentence, "A firefighter has to be strong and quick enough to pull people out of burning buildings." This sentence tells us what a firefighter does, but it does not say, "A firefighter is a person who puts out fires and rescues people from burning buildings." This last sentence is a definition.

I would also like you to post a translation of the word into your native language if one has not already been posted. Be sure to label which language you are translating. For example, your comment would look like this:
Spanish: bombero
A firefighter has to be strong and quick enough to pull people out of burning buildings.

If you are posting a sentence, you need to click on the "# comments" link beneath each word post.
